Keralam’s good health and education were largely paid for by money sent home from Keralites working routine office and manual jobs in Gulf countries. Families made sacrifices, took the effort and also carried the risk; the state largely sat back enjoyed the results. Artificial Intelligence (AI) can now do many of those jobs cheaply, without a human. When Gulf employers automate those roles, the money stops flowing. Keralam’s families lose income. The government loses tax revenue. If the welfare and health systems that Keralites are proud of lose their financial oxygen, everything collapses at once!! Unless Keralam acts now.
